An evocative black and white image of two Spitfires flying over the white cliffs of Dover as they would have done after the D-Day invasion of Normandy on 6th June 1944 when thousands of brave young men landed on the beaches in Normandy, Northern France to push back the occupying Nazi forces in the hopes of ending World War Two.
The price of fighting for freedom was very high that day as there were at least 10,000 casualties and 4,414 died.
